The Mudflapps

Barb Hale

Her smile charms all, her laughter is the best sound in the band. Singing and performing is not simply a joy for Barb - it’s infectious joy to all. Barb has been the anchor for 20 years of Mudflappin’. An original member, her upbeat originals bring a heartburst to listeners, while her ballads make you cherish every moment we share.

Justin Gillam

The second half of original Mudflapps, Justin hails from Kansas. His perspective on life is filtered into the songs and stories he sings. A realism that only song can really speak, he challenges us to consider the meaning of it all, the hilarity in our experiences, and the occasional drinking song.

Randy Mollner

Lifelong musician, experienced in many genres, Randy is at home in the americana, folk, bluegrass, and blues that drive a Mudflapp set. Paying tribute to his heroes by singing their songs, as well as ones he’s penned, Randy brings a richness to the sound of the band.

Robert Kuta

This banjo player does own a tracter. The real deal, steeped in traditional bluegrass, this banjo player carrys the torch : overall wearing, trail wandering, thirsty picker just looking for the next gig. Robert’s ability to fade in and out within arrangements is beyond that traditional player, yet he sure does enjoy a good song to roll through!

Barrett Tasky

Through the years, Barrett has been a full time member, a ‘Fill-a-Flapp’ sub, and a fan. Joining the band in 2008 on mandolin, he moved to bass or guitar as needed. A musicians’s musician, Barrett has found himself with fingers in most genres, but has always been rooted in the Mudflapp way - authentic songs of life. His passion for original music, arrangement, and harmony makes him more than just the ‘bass’ for the Flapps to build up from.
